Overview

The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) of the Slovak Republic supports international mobility for students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers, and artists to study or conduct research at higher education institutions and research organizations in Slovakia.

Coverage

The scholarship is fully funded, covering living expenses during the stay. Monthly stipends are approximately 620 EUR for students, 1025.50 EUR for PhD students, and up to 1470 EUR for teachers/researchers/artists. A travel grant (50 EUR to 1500 EUR) and reimbursement for medical examination costs (up to 250 EUR) may also be provided.

Eligibility

Open to international applicants from all countries (excluding Slovak citizens). Applicants must meet specific criteria based on their category (student, PhD student, or professional). Students must be enrolled at a university outside Slovakia and have completed at least 2.5 years of university studies. PhD students, teachers, researchers, and artists must be invited or accepted by a Slovak institution.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a CV, motivation letter, study/research/teaching program, recommendation letters, academic transcripts/diplomas, and an acceptance/invitation letter from a Slovak institution. Documents must be in Slovak or English.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online through the official NSP portal. The original acceptance or invitation letter must also be delivered to SAIA in Bratislava by the deadline.

Notes

Previous NSP scholarship recipients can only reapply after two years. Applicants cannot receive another scholarship funded by Slovak public resources during the same stay.
