Overview

The Honjo International Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to international students pursuing Master's or PhD degrees at Japanese graduate schools. Coverage

- Monthly stipend: ¥230,000 (1-2 year degree), ¥210,000 (3-year degree), or ¥180,000 (4-5 year degree). - Travel grants for foundation-organized conferences and events.

Eligibility

- Open to all non-Japanese nationals. - Must be enrolled in or accepted to a Japanese graduate school for a Master's or PhD program. - Enrollment duration must be at least 12 months. - Must be able to hold a basic conversation in Japanese. - Must not hold other scholarships (with specific exceptions like MEXT or JSPS).

Requirements

- Recent passport-style photograph. - 2-minute video introducing yourself and your research plan. - Official academic transcripts. - Research proposal. - Recommendation letter. - Admission letter or proof of acceptance from a Japanese graduate school.
