The UNHCR Internship Program offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience within the United Nations system. Internships are available at various UNHCR offices globally, including headquarters and field offices.

Coverage

This is a partially funded internship. Interns receive an allowance to cover food, local transportation, and living expenses. UNHCR also provides reimbursement for return travel costs to/from the duty station. Visa costs are not covered, though UNHCR provides documentation support.

Eligibility

Open to applicants from all countries, including Ethiopia. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program at an accredited university or have completed their studies within the last two years.

Requirements

Applicants must be proficient in English (minimum B2 level). Candidates must not have immediate relatives (parents, siblings) currently working as UNHCR staff or affiliates.
