Overview

The Slovakia Scholarships for Talented Students program offers international students the opportunity to pursue full-time Bachelor's, combined Bachelor's and Master's, or Master's degree programs at selected public universities in Slovakia. The program aims to support students in fields that contribute to the development of Slovakia.

Coverage

Selected students receive €5,000 per academic year. The total support is up to €15,000 for 3 years for Bachelor's/combined studies, or up to €10,000 for 2 years for Master's studies. Public health insurance may be provided subject to Slovak law, and some universities may waive tuition fees for programs taught in foreign languages.

Eligibility

Open to applicants from all over the world who are not citizens of Slovakia. Applicants must not have had permanent residence in Slovakia since January 1, 2021, and must not have prior secondary education in Slovakia. Bachelor's applicants must not have prior higher education in Slovakia.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed secondary education (for Bachelor's) or a Bachelor's degree (for Master's). A mandatory requirement is obtaining a minimum score in the SAT or SCIO (Mathematics + General Academic Prerequisites) tests. Applicants must be available for full-time, in-person study.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the official portal at https://scholarships.portalvs.sk/. You must register an account, complete the profile, fill out the application form, and upload required documents including a CV, motivation letter, test results, and signed solemn declarations.

Notes

There is no upper age limit. Applicants under 18 require legal guardian consent. The deadline has been extended to September 8, 2026.
